I’m Benjamin Carrasco, a professional painter drawn to bold color, expressive brushstrokes, and dynamic palette knife gestures.
My journey began in El Paso, Texas. Shortly after I was born, my family moved to Ciudad Juárez, Mexico, where I grew up in a large, close-knit family filled with love and lasting memories. That’s where my connection to art first took root. From an early age, I felt a strong need to create—drawing constantly and building small sculptures from recycled materials.
Years later, I joined the U.S. Navy, a six-year chapter that allowed me to travel the world, grow as a person, and gain independence. An unexpected knee surgery forced me to slow down. With time on my hands, I picked up a pencil and paper—and the creative spark returned. Sixteen years later, I haven’t looked back.
Today, from my home studio in El Paso, I create textured oil paintings inspired by the desert, animals, and landscapes for collectors across the United States. My subjects have evolved over the years—from portraits and figures to bulls, horses, sunsets, and desert life—but the emotion behind the work remains the same.
Through loose gestures and layered textures, my work aims to create a sense of connection and invite the viewer into the emotion I felt while painting.
I hope my art offers a moment of reflection, joy, and connection.
Thank you for being here and for being part of my journey.
